Well, it's been over a month and I'm still just as obsessed with this wedding as I was when I shot it. Ladies + Gentlemen, let me introduce to you Shannon + Nick. What started as a friendship over a mutual love of hair (they're two of the most bad-ass stylists in Ottawa) took some years to evolve into something so much more than friendship. Nick proposed to Shannon last Spring - it was "sweet, simple and private," much like the two of them.
An intimate wedding was in the plans from the get-go, and I was the lucky photographer who got to document it. These two found ways to pull off the most beautiful wedding with their closest friends - all in the comfort of their own home.
I met with them at their home, and the vibe was so laidback. One friend was working on a charcuterie board with literally the best vegan spread, while the other was upstairs assuring Shannon that her lashes looked bomb (annnnd they did). Nick was suiting up in their bedroom down the hall. The Zoom call was set up downstairs, and a FaceTime with the MOB was a necessity as Shannon slipped into her wedding dress.
The ceremony was minimalist, but so beautiful. Peep the stunning floral arch below! We headed over to Chapman Mills Conservation Area for their wedding photos. It was a perfectly overcast day, snow had fallen the day prior, and (thankfully) it wasn't a typical Ottawa winter day. Once that was finished, back to their place for the reception! That meant digging into that vegan charcuterie and having a few bevies with the ones closest to their hearts.
It was an absolute JOY being able to celebrate alongside Shannon + Nick. What a great way to ring in the New Year.
