A Beautiful Backyard Wedding in The Kawarthas
What a FUN one. Beyond the fact that the bride, is a total riot and I go waaayyyy back with the groom, I wish the energy at weddings like this could be bottled up and saved for a rainy day. Everything was so chill and so happy. Two things I can guarantee you want to be feeling on your wedding day.
I showed up and an on the fly champagne wall was literally being constructed by the groom's father about 1.5 hours before the ceremony. Casual. There were family and friends buzzing around doing final touches here and there, but it wasn't hectic at all. It was fun, exciting. The more that people showed up, the more abundant that energy became. It was infectious.
The hugs were hard, like pick your old friend up off of the ground because you haven't seen them in a long time hard. The laughs were loud, the ones that make you say to yourself "I wonder what they're laughing at, must be hilarious," so you start laughing yourself. Just so good.
Key takeaway from this day: don't take your day so seriously. The more comfortable and laidback you are, the more your guests will be... and you know what that means. More presence, more intention, more emotion, more fun.
